Benjamin Gory is a Full Professor of Interventional Neuroradiology at the University Hospital of Nancy (CHRU de Nancy) in France. He is an accomplished clinical researcher and a leading figure in the field of interventional neuroradiology. As a French trialist, he serves as the coordinating investigator for several ongoing randomized controlled trials, including the Direct Angio trial and the TITAN trial. His research focuses on acute stroke management, aiming to improve patient outcomes through innovative interventional strategies.

“Direct to the Angio” : Evidence, organization of workflow, imaging (ONLINE)

This presentation will explore the “Direct to Angio Suite” (DTAS) approach in the management of acute ischemic stroke patients with suspected large vessel occlusion (LVO). The DTAS protocol involves bypassing conventional imaging steps and transferring patients directly to the angiography suite for immediate assessment and intervention. Evidence suggests that DTAS can significantly reduce door-to-puncture and door-to-reperfusion times, leading to improved clinical outcomes. The results of the Direct Angio trial will be presented and discussed. The talk will review the organization of workflow necessary to implement DTAS, including pre-hospital notification, patient selection criteria, and in-hospital coordination among multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, advancements in imaging modalities within the angiography suite, such as cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), will be highlighted for their role in rapid and accurate diagnosis, facilitating timely endovascular treatment. The presentation aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current evidence on DTAS, practical considerations for its implementation, and future directions in acute stroke care.
