Prof. Hempel is the spouse of Prof. Trebak and his long term collaborator. Prof. Hempel will bring expertise in mitochondria, metabolism and redox signaling in ovarian cancer, which powerfully complements the expertise of Prof. Trebak (Calcium signaling in Cancer) and that of Dr. Potier-Cartereau (Potassium channels, calcium channels in cancer). The Trebak/Hempel/Potier-Cartereau team has established and ongoing collaborations between its members as established by joint peer-review publications in past years.
