Collaborator role
Rodrigo Guabiraba completed his PhD degree in Pharmacology in 2010 at the University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. In 2014, he joined the team “Pathogenesis of Avian Colibacillosis” at UMR1282 Infectiologie et Santé Publique, INRAE, Centre Val de Loire, Nouzilly, to work on identifying and characterizing early mediators of inflammation involved in chicken’s innate immune response to bacteria. As the host effector mechanisms that are necessary to deal with infection are not necessarily the same as those that exacerbate inflammation and drive disease, the team aims to provide a solid basis for how mediators of inflammation produced by (or acting on) chicken epithelial and phagocytic cells are regulated and contribute to optimal bacterial clearance or to unwanted inflammation. Guabiraba has a solid expertise in inflammation, animal models of infection, mammalian and avian immunology, and cell biology. (Scopus: Refereed publications = 55, H-index = 25). With his experience and access to confocal microscopic instrumentation, he will be an active participant in our immunofluorescent imaging of CAM extracellular vesicles.
