Collaborator role
Prof. Sebastien is an soil expert who has extensively studied sediment dynamics and characteristics at Louroux catchment. He will be working throughout the project closely. He is a co-host to the applicant and will involve in sampling, stakeholder discussions, laboratory analysis. Prof. Sebastien, serving as the co-host scientist for the Louroux catchment project on microplastics, brings a wealth of expertise in soil science, sedimentology, and sediment dynamics. With extensive experience working in the Louroux catchment, he will play a crucial role in guiding the project's direction and overseeing the collection and analysis of soil, sediment and water samples. He will assist in the development and calibration of hydrophones for measuring bedload fluxes in the catchment to ensure that the hydrophones accurately capture data in low bedload flux conditions. He also will liaise with local stakeholders, including environmental agencies and community groups to communicate the project's objectives, progress, and outcomes to ensure stakeholder support and involvement. His contributions will be critical in advancing our understanding and enhances our ability to achieve comprehensive insights into sediment transport dynamics and quantifying microplastic flux within the catchment. This research will advance methodologies for sediment transport measurement and contribute to global efforts in managing microplastic pollution.
