Collaborator role
In this project, the collaborator will play an important role in examining the effects of Epilobium extracts on skin health, in particular their influence on key enzymes involved in ageing processes. The role includes a detailed in vitro evaluation of the extracts' abilities to modulate enzyme activities essential for maintaining the structural integrity and appearance of the skin. Specifically, the focus is on their ability to inhibit tyrosinase, associated with pigmentation disorders, and collagenase, which accelerates collagen degradation and wrinkle development. In addition, the collaborator's role includes investigating the potential benefits of these extracts on elastase and hyaluronidase, enzymes that compromise skin elasticity and hydration, as well as the ability of the extracts to strengthen the skin's defense mechanisms by enhancing the activity of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT).
