A contribution to the management of a cultural landscape in a man-made and urbanised habitat
Dr Eduardo Garcia Ribeiro Lopes Domingues, lawyer and researcher in urban law (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) will be speaking on 12 March 2024 as part of the "Et si nous parlions..." series of science and society events organised by the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme du Val de Loire.
The inclusion of a section of the Loire River on the World Heritage List has made explicitly visible to everyone the link between the natural spatial construction of the river and the action of man over the centuries.
Accompanying the development of a perception of the area as a potentially evolving heritage, the broad corridor of the Loire World Heritage site is also a space for interaction and decision-making on the simultaneous consideration of a habitat strongly characterised by natural resources and a man-made and urbanised habitat.
By bringing together specialists from different disciplines and geographical areas, the discussion will focus on the complex organisation of the management of a cultural landscape.
