Presentation

We are excited to invite you to participate in a one-day workshop dedicated to Digital Twins to take place on next December 11 in Orléans. Led by the BRGM (French Geological Survey) and supported by the Centre-Val de Loire Regional Council, JUNON is an innovative five-year initiative which aims at creating a digital research hub focused on the environment and the sustainable management of natural resources. The JUNON  programme will push the boundaries of environmental management through "digital twins"—virtual replicas of natural systems such as groundwater, soil, and air. These models will provide better resources to understand, predict, and manage regional resources using advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning.

By attending this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Discover the JUNON Project's ongoing initiatives, highlighting practical works towards creating of environmental digital twins.
  • Gain global insights from experts, offering a comprehensive understanding of  future directions in digital twin development.
  • Connect with a diverse network of professionals, including researchers, engineers, and decision-makers across various disciplines.
  • Engage in meaningful discussions on best practices, challenges, and opportunities in digital twin development, contributing to the advancement of collaborative research projects.

The workshop features leading experts, including Gaetan Siew, a visionary in architecture and urban planning who has contributed to over 1,500 projects worldwide and has been recognized for his commitment to social equity and poverty reduction through innovative urban development. Professor Franco Niccolucci, Director of the VAST-LAB research laboratory in Italy and a leader in applying information technology to archaeology. Jean Marie Leonard and Jean-François Rainaud, recognized experts in geotechnics and geomodeling, known for their innovative approaches to infrastructure and data management. Éric Mauvière, Statistician-Economist and President of ICEM7, specializes in transforming data into meaningful insights through tailored training, consulting, and support services. Verónika Peralta, an HDR researcher and Associate Professor in computer science at the University of Tours, focuses on data storytelling and managing complex data systems. With deep expertise in databases, data quality, and data warehousing, she integrates her research  to drive innovation in data-driven decision-making. You will also have the chance to meet researchers and engineers of the Centre-Val de Loire region who bring their expertise to the JUNON programme. Through a series of engaging presentations, they will provide insights into the regional  ecosystem and their efforts to enhance the management of the environment, including agricultural, urban, forestry, and river areas.

Don’t miss this chance to explore environmental digital twins and unlock new collaboration opportunities!

Don't miss the opportunity!
