Presentation

We are excited to invite you to participate in a one-day workshop dedicated to Digital Twins to take place on next December 11 in Orléans. Led by the BRGM (French Geological Survey) and supported by the Centre-Val de Loire Regional Council, JUNON is an innovative five-year initiative which aims at creating a digital research hub focused on the environment and the sustainable management of natural resources. The JUNON  programme will push the boundaries of environmental management through "digital twins"—virtual replicas of natural systems such as groundwater, soil, and air. These models will provide better resources to understand, predict, and manage regional resources using advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning.

By attending this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to:

•    Learn about the latest scientific and technical advances in the field of digital twins, particularly in their application to natural resource management and sustainable urban planning.
•    Connect with researchers, engineers, and decision-makers from various backgrounds and disciplines.
•    Engage in enriching discussions about best practices, challenges, and opportunities in developing digital twins, while contributing to the progress of collaborative research projects.
•    Explore new perspectives on digital twins within an environmental context.

The workshop features leading experts, including Gaetan Siew, a visionary in architecture and urban planning who has contributed to over 1,500 projects worldwide and has been recognized for his commitment to social equity and poverty reduction through innovative urban development. Professor Franco Niccolucci, Director of the VAST-LAB research laboratory in Italy and a leader in applying information technology to archaeology. Jean Marie Leonard and Jean-François Rainaud, recognized experts in geotechnics and geomodeling, known for their innovative approaches to infrastructure and data management. Éric Mauvière, Statistician-Economist and President of ICEM7, specializes in transforming data into meaningful insights through tailored training, consulting, and support services.. You will also have the chance to meet researchers of the Centre-Val de Loire region who bring their expertise to the JUNON programme. Through a series of engaging presentations, they will provide insights into the regional  ecosystem and their efforts to enhance the management of the environment, including agricultural, urban, forestry, and river areas.

This is a unique opportunity for anyone who wants to be at the forefront of research and development in the field of digital twins while contributing to an essential cause: the sustainable management of  natural resources.
