AgroParisTech Orléans

AgroParisTech is the Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences and Industries, under the supervision of the Ministries of Agriculture and Higher Education. This major international benchmark addresses the biggest challenges of the 21st century: feeding people through sustainable land management, preserving natural resources, promoting innovation and integrating the bioeconomy. AgroParisTech opened a branch in September 2022 on the Orléans la Source campus, with a twofold aim: 
1) To provide training as close as possible to companies in the cosmetics sector, particularly those based in the Orléans area. 
2) To support these courses by creating a local research team to consolidate and complete the dynamics of the ARD CVL Cosmetosciences programme. To achieve this, it has been decided to create a chair and a specialisation in cosmetology at the end of the engineering course.

Research topics: 

• Formulation: development of water-free formulas / characterisation of soft matter / structure function relationship of ingredients to discover predictive models.
• Process engineering: innovation in cosmetics galenics through modulation of process parameters.
• Skin Biology: development of new skin models / biological evaluation on reconstructed cells and epidermis.
• Microbiology: cosmetics matrix/microbiome interactions.
• Chemistry and sensory analysis: discovery of new active ingredients from nature for enhanced cosmetics efficacy and sensory experience.
